Brigette Friend - 

Brigette Friend & Alea McClintock-Donahue

Brigette Friend has been working in the medical field since 2003 and has been the owner/operator of the business since 2016. She is also an adjunct Phlebotomy instructor at the Garrett College and enjoys teaching in this capacity. 

Together with her husband Paul and two kids, she enjoys camping, the beach and has a professional interest in geriatrics, nephrology, holistic wellness, sleep and palliative care.

Our Provider

Alea McClintock-Donahue DNP, CRNP

Our holistic and herbal wellness practitioner is Alea McClintock-Donahue, DNP, CRNP. Alea has 17 years of experience in the healthcare field and has always had a passion for alternative and complementary healthcare practices. She started her career in healthcare working as a registered nurse in various areas of healthcare including medical/surgical care, trauma care, labor and delivery, and neonatal intensive care practice. While working, she completed her masters with a focus of family practice nurse practitioner and then her doctor of nursing practice. After practicing as a family practice nurse practitioner for 8 years, she left primary care and made the switch to sleep medicine at The Garrett County Sleep Center in 2022.

 

Alea also owns and operates a medicinal herb farm and Herbal Earth Apothecary & Gardens with her husband Jason and two children, where she grows herbs and medicinal plants, formulates herbal medicine, and helps clients make strides towards optimal wellness using herbal medicine in conjunction with their current healthcare treatment plants. Throughout her education and practice, Alea has taken numerous courses and classes in herbal wellness and herbal medicine practice. She holds a Master Herbalist Certification from Centre of Excellence. Her passions are her family, her farm, holistic wellness, and educating the community about plants and herbs and how these can be used safely and in conjunction with allopathic medicine (also known as modern or western medicine) practices. Although Alea is trained on full body systems, some of her special interest areas are sleep, women’s health, autoimmune disease, digestive issues, and the gut microbiome.
